Adoptions Wraparound Services

Youth for Change has been providing Wraparound services to adoptive and foster parents since 2001. When a family is in crisis and unable to meet a child’s need for safety and health, Youth for Change Wraparound makes every effort to provide support, parenting skills, and resources to help reunite families in a healthy, nurturing way.
What is Adoptions Wraparound?
High-fidelity Wraparound is a strength-based, needs-driven, individualized program that addresses the basic needs for families including safety, financial, emotional, behavioral, educational, medical, social, respite, and vocational support in order to build a sustainable plan for you and your family.
Wraparound staff are trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Trauma Informed Care, Nurtured Heart, Motivational Interviewing and Attachment practices, and are competent in the Foster Care and Adoption practices.
Wraparound teams understand that every family is unique, and sometimes it takes a creative approach to support and sustain a family during a crisis.
Wraparound staff understand the stress, helplessness, and burnout that parents feel and are here to help and build a healthy family life.
Each family creates a team consisting of a facilitator, a parent partner, and any other natural supports or service providers that the family chooses to be a part of their journey. The team will work together to create a family vision which will guide the process and determine the needs of the family. The team will provide encouragement, education, hands on support, and hope while working towards achieving the family’s goals.
Child and Family Team (CFT) will meet on a regular basis to build a therapeutic relationship, develop services and supports to build upon the family’s strengths. Each family is in charge of their own goals, services, and successes. The intent is to build a sustainable, strength-based plan to achieve the family’s vision, and have natural supports that will support the youth and family after they graduate the program.
Family Activity Days will occur throughout the year which include but are not limited to Family BBQs, Holiday Tree Cutting, Snow Play Days, Hiking, and Family Adventure Afternoons. The days are intentionally designed for families to have FUN together while being supported by Wraparound staff.
Families will have access to our Wraparound Outdoor Program which is designed to engage youth and families in activities that can push their comfort zone while learning and practicing communication and coping skills in a different environment.
Who is Eligible?
Any adopted youth (public adoptions) who is at risk of out-of-home placement or stepping down from out-of-home placement and returning home.
