Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH) and funding from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), the 6th Street Center for Youth is a drop-in service center for transition- aged youth (14-24 years) dealing with issues of homelessness or a runaway episode. Staff are prepared to help with family reunification, counseling, crisis intervention, health concerns, employment, housing, educational advocacy and tutoring, support groups, budgeting skills and case management. 6th Street Center for Youth also offers basic services including showers, laundry facilities, afternoon meals, clothing exchange, computer access and lockers.

Through partnerships with Butte County Department of Social Services (DESS), Butte County Adoptions, State Adoptions and other Northstate counties, our adoption agency works with parents who want to start or grow their families through the permanency of adoption. Adoptive parents go through the same approval process as our foster and guardianship families and are required to be licensed under regulations set forth by California Community Care Licensing (CCL) to be an available permanent home for children whose biological parent(s) are unable to provide permanent care. Based on the unique needs of each child, additional supports and services may be available including Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), clinical support and Wraparound. Adoptive families work with Youth for Change social workers through the entire process until Adoption Finalization day and additional supports are available through post adoptive services.

When a family is in crisis and unable to meet a child’s need for safety and health, Youth for Change Wraparound makes every effort to provide support, parenting skills, and resources to help reunite familes in a healthy, nurturing way. High-fidelity Wraparound is a strength-based, needs-driven, individualized program that addresses the basic needs for families in order to build a sustainable plan for success.

Medi-Cal is being transformed to better address the needs of California’s most vulnerable populations, and Youth for Change is providing these new services to eligible families, children and youth across Butte, Sutter and Yuba counties.

Youth for Change provides certified Parents as Teachers as home visitors to support Butte County families with young children ages 0-3, as they experience and overcome challenges every parent faces. The CHVP is fun, increases parenting confidence and satisfaction, helps babies reach developmental milestones, and provides navigation support to parents to access community resources.

Youth for Change provides certified Parents as Teachers as home visitors to support Butte and Yuba County families having young children ages 0-24 months and enrolled in the Butte or Yuba County CalWORKs program. The CalWORKs HVP activities count toward CalWORKs requirements, are fun, increase parent confidence and satisfaction, help babies reach developmental milestones, and provide navigation support to parents to access community resources.

Based on a triage process, Youth for Change’s DR program responds to low to moderate risk child welfare reports with comprehensive community services. Provides home visits, navigation support for families to access community services, therapeutic services, and a wide range of individualized support and skill building. Yuba and Sutter counties only.

The FARE program offers facilitated CFT Meetings for all families involved with Butte County Children's Services Division (CSD) using the CANS (Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths) informed CFT Meeting format provided by CSD. These meetings are designed to help families identify their support systems as well as to see what the family needs to be successful in reunifying with their children.

The Family Urgent Response System (FURS) includes a statewide hotline as well as a local mobile response by a Youth For Change team to provide trauma informed support to current and former foster youth and caregivers. Youth For Change provides a mobile response in Butte, Sutter and Yuba County.

Foster Care Services provides a temporary living arrangement in which foster parents and resource families provide for the care of a child or children whose birthparents are unable to care for them. Foster parents are required to be licensed under regulations set forth by California Community Care Licensing (CCL) to be an available home for these children while the biological parent(s) works towards reunification. Based on the unique needs of each foster child, additional supports and services are available, including Intensive Services Foster Care (ISFC), Transitional Housing, and Adoption.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH) and The Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) Runaway and Homeless Youth Program, H.E.A.R.T. is a mobile crisis response and emergency sheltering program that offers 24-hour services to homeless and runaway youth (under the age of 18) and their caregivers.

Transitional Housing Programs provide apartment living support and oversight to young adults who are currently in or who have recently left the foster care system. YFC assists with apartment searching and funding; social workers assist youth in creating monthly budgets, paying rent and bills, grocery shopping, maintaining apartments, scheduling and maintaining appointments, applying for jobs and completing high school or attending higher education settings.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Social Services (DESS), Juvenile Probation, Butte County Adoptions, and State Adoptions, Wraparound services are provided with a focus on working with youth and their families (biological, adoptive, kinship or foster family) to keep a child in a home rather than in a higher level of care. The Wraparound team works to create a sustainable family plan by providing a family-centered, individualized, culturally relevant, and strength-based approach to keep youth stabilized in a permanent home. Each team created strives to build trust, cooperation, self-worth, and family unity to fulfill each family’s unique family vision.

Through a partnership with Sutter Yuba Behavioral Health (SYBH), CBS provides Specialty Mental Health Services to clients in the environment that is most comfortable to them and/or their family: a school, community, home or office setting.

Through a partnership with Sutter Yuba Behavioral Health (SYBH) and funding from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), YFC’s FSP Program provides Specialty Mental Health Services that are integrated, collaborative, and strength based. Services are delivered in partnership with formal and natural supports to create a team that promotes healing and wellbeing. FSP works to break down barriers by providing support with basic needs to increase the effectiveness of mental health interventions.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH), our Hospital Alternative Program (HAP) is a short-term, intensive treatment response to stabilize crisis behavior and prevent a youth psychiatric hospitalization. HAP will assist with the transition from a crisis facility and create a safety plan with the client or family to help them remain successfully in their home and community.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH), In Home Parenting provides a parent educator to provide Specialty Mental Health Services that assist clients in reaching goals by improving family functioning.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH) and Sutter Yuba Behavioral Health (SYBH), our Med Support Program provides Specialty Mental Health Services including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, prescribing and ongoing psychiatric services.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy is provided through the Strong Starts program. PCIT helps to improve the child and caregiver relationship by building attachment and coaching caregivers to respond consistently and predictably to the child’s needs and behaviors.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH), SBC provides Specialty Mental Health Services to children experiencing a functional impairment in the school setting.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH), Strong Starts provides Specialty Mental Health Services to clients in the environment that is most comfortable to them and/or their family: a school, community, home, or office setting. Strong Starts also provides Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to improve the child and caregiver relationship, as applicable.

Through a partnership with the Butte County Department of Behavioral Health (BCDBH), TBS provides Specialty Mental Health Services to youth with serious emotional disturbances who are at risk of hospitalization or out of home placement, or transitioning from a hospital, group home or STRTP to a lower level of care.
