Brief Screening Initiative

The fast paced, time sensitive nature and high demands of work in the human and social services sector require that staff have a readily available, easy to use, and efficient process to identify presenting concerns, link family members to appropriate services, and gain insight into the family situation.

When family service plans are developed in response to salient presenting concerns like child maltreatment, domestic violence, substance use, family instability or lack of parenting knowledge, early screening to identify underlying factors is frequently omitted. Failure to identify and address underlying factors can prolong family insecurity and diminish desired outcomes.

To fulfill this need, the Strategies Center at Youth for Change™ offers training and coaching to implement a variety of brief screening instruments.
