Wraparound

The Wraparound program is based on the family and the community
working together. The focus is on the individual needs of one child,
one family, one plan.
The Wraparound program is a community support system. Wraparound builds
on the strengths of each individual within the family. The goal is to
create a unified family plan for the future.
Wraparound addresses
families' basic needs:
- Emotional
- Educational
- Vocational
- Safety
- Cultural
- Social
- Financial
- Medical
- Behavioral
- Legal
- Family
The Butte County effort is committed to providing Wraparound services
that are family-centered, strength-based and needs driven.
How Does Wraparound Work?
A child and family team is created. Needs are identified on an
individual basis. Both formal and informal community resources are
accessed to meet the family's needs, and obtain their goals.
Flexibility is a key component.
Each individual family is involved in deciding who is on their team. A
family team may consist of: immediate family, extended family, friends,
neighbors, parent advocates, professionals, county agencies and any
community resource deemed necessary for a successful outcome. The
family is an active participant in the team partnership. As the
family's needs change, so may the team.
Why is the Wraparound Program Successful?
This approach focuses on what is working with the family. It builds on
individual's strengths, assets and skills. It pulls people and
community together. A team is created that strives for trust,
cooperation, self-worth and family unity. Each family is in charge of
their own goals and successes.
Who is Eligible?
Families with children who have been placed, or at risk of placement in a
residential setting or higher level of care, as identified by the
