Known Issues

Squarespace

Our website is made using Squarespace, which has several known accessibility issues that do not fully meet WCAG criteria. The below are flagged by Google Lighthouse. These issues are part of the Squarespace code, and are not editable by users. Squarespace is aware of these issues, and we hope that they will be resolved in a future release.

  • Some elements have a [tabindex] value greater than 0: this is found on the “Skip to Content” link for screen readers (or when you browse using your keyboard tab keys). Though flagged, it does not appear that this issue is negatively impacting the browsing experience—tabbed navigation appears to function normally. If you experience difficulty with tabbed browsing, please contact us with details.

  • Links do not have a discernible name: this is found on certain images with links for not having the appropriate text descriptions for screen readers. We have confirmed that the image elements in question have proper alternative text ("alt text"), which meets WCAG criteria. This appears to be an issue with how Squarespace structures such image links.

Others

  • <frame> or <iframe> elements do not have a title: found on our donation forms. Wufoo (our form manager) does not include a title in the iframe code generated by their script—we are unable to modify this. Wufoo is aware of this issue, but it has not yet been resolved.
