In Home Parenting

In Home Parenting is a parenting education program offered to Butte County families. A specially trained parent educator will assist a client with their mental health treatment goals by improving family functioning through teaching parenting skills.

How does it work?

A clinician will refer you to work with a parent educator, who will come to your home or another community location to support you with developing parenting strategies to support your child in achieving their treatment goals.

Who is eligible? What are the benefits? How long does it last?

Any parent with a child up to age 21 with full scope Medi-Cal can participate in services.

Services are provided to help reduce the behaviors that make it challenging for your child to be successful at home, with friends, or at school.

IHP will…

  • Teach you to have more effective communication with family members

  • Assist in creating age appropriate routines in the home that reduce unwanted behaviors

  • Help you understand your child’s emotional and behavioral challenges

  • Assist in creating parenting strategies that improve your relationship with your child

  • Connect you to longer lasting supportive services

Services are based on your preferences to participate. We are here to assist with your child’s treatment goals.
