Who We Are

Youth for Change (YFC) is a diversified private non profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of children, individuals, families and communities. We are an inclusive, caring, and resilient agency that works from a set of core values that allows us to deliver trauma informed, culturally sensitive, and client centered services.

We primarily serve clients and families in Butte, Sutter-Yuba, Glenn and Shasta Counties, but partner with other counties and communities when there is a need. YFC was established by George Siler in 1991 as a non-profit with two group homes in Paradise, California. The organization would eventually grow to include four group homes, create a Family Resource Center, and expand into foster care services.

YFC has implemented countless Social Service and Behavioral Health collaborative partnerships and programs. In response to community needs over the past two decades, we have employed between 100-200 Northern California residents at any given time.

In 2018, twelve of our buildings and structures - along with a portion of our staff's homes - were destroyed by the devastating Camp Fire. All group home clients were taken to safety on the day of the fire, but our Group Home structures did not survive.

All other services and programs have continued to be delivered seamlessly, and new services and programs continue to be added. A new Administrative and service delivery site has been established in Chico on Cohasset Road.

After 28 years of guidance and growth, George Siler retired as Chief Executive Officer in 2019; at that time, Chief Operations Officer Beth Parsons was appointed as our new CEO.
